The COVID-19 pandemic has been an un-nerving and unsettling time for many – not least our children. We have collated some resources below to support you with maintaining the mental well-being of your children. This page will be regularly updated with advice and tips so keep checking back.
- Anxiety Workbook for Adults and Teens – This is a self-help workbook designed for adults, but could also be used by teenagers. Teenagers may prefer to use an app, and there is one called Wysa which is great. It combines self-help with a chat-bot to support anxiety, sleep, self-esteem, etc.
- UNICEF COVID-19 Parent Tips – A lovely set of infographics that covers all of the bases in an easily digestible way. This is appropriate for parents of children of all ages and includes info on supporting children with disabilities too.
- First Aid for Feelings – Aimed at Primary age children, it’s a workbook specific to feelings around COVID including anxiety and anger, and how to manage those feelings.
- My Hero is You – Dealing with Coronavirus and Bereavement – A story aimed at Primary age children, designed to be read to them by an adult to support emotions, teach strategies and empower.
- The Bereavement Guide – A lovely free resource from Nurture UK to support children going through bereavement. It’s useful for school staff but also lovely to share with parents as a practical and very compassionate guide.
