Safeguarding

At St Hugh of Lincoln Catholic Primary School we are committed to the safeguarding of children and young adults. All staff, volunteers and students working in our school are expected to share this commitment.

All recruitment to our school is done in accordance with Safer Recruitment expectations and requirements as set out in the Department for Education’s statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education.

The school’s Designated Safeguarding Leader is Mrs Catherine Grace. The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mrs Deb Harper and Mrs Rachel Pickard.   The Governor responsible for safeguarding is Mr Stuart Linnell.

Any queries or concerns about safeguarding should be addressed to one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads.

If you are concerned about a child’s welfare please report it to one of our Safeguarding Leads as a matter of urgency.  Do not conduct your own investigation. If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff (which could suggest that she/he is unsuitable to work with children) then you should report this to the Headteacher (or the Chair of Governors, Mr Mike O’Donovan if the concern relates to the Headteacher) – who will undertake the appropriate actions.
