The Friends of St Hugh of Lincoln School
A friendly way to raise money!
The Friends of St Hugh’s is a registered charity (No: 1024178) whose aim is to raise funds for the school whilst fostering community activities for school families and friends. Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in the school and parents and guardians with children at the school are particularly welcome to join. An annually elected committee meets twice a term, liaises with the school staff and organises many events and activities throughout the year in order to raise funds for extra equipment and facilities of benefit to the school. Typically, The Friends have helped to provide new computers, musical instruments, as well as funds for the hearing loop, text service and the IT suite. In 2008/9 we raised nearly £15,000.
As well as raising much needed funds, Friends’ activities provide an opportunity for parents and others to meet, socialise and relax. Events such as quiz evenings, curry nights, cake sales and discos are a great way to get to know other parents and to feel involved with the school.
A list of forthcoming events is on the friends calendar.
We are always open to new fundraising ideas, and if your employer runs any form of matched giving or £-for-£ scheme we would delighted to discuss a way of using this. Alternatively if your company or employer can donate items suitable for raffle prizes again let us know. Contact us via a note to the school office marked for the attention of the Friends or email the Chair using this link.
We also raise money through this charity shopping web site. It has lots of well known stores and it costs you nothing extra.
We are members of the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTA).
Chair: Mr Andy Challis
Deputy Chair: Mrs Kelly Cobbett
Treasurer: Mrs Sarah Byne

A reminder from the Friends … Don’t forget to support the school by supporting our local football team. Football Home Game, Woking Football Club, 13th April, (Easter Monday), kick-off 3.00pm. Just take your tickets and a child for a discounted entry. The more people who support this, the bigger the donation to the school. A reminder that the school Easter Disco is taking place on Saturday, 28 March, from 7-9pm, in St Hugh of Lincoln Church Hall. This will be a great evening for all the family with refreshments, raffle, hot dogs and children’s and adults’ bars.
