Eco schools initiative

The eco-schools initiative is an international programme encouraging schools to think carefully about their impact on the environment, and to work towards becoming more environmentally-friendly.

At St Hugh of Lincoln, we are committed to becoming increasingly environmentally aware and friendly.

We have decided that our first priorities should be:

• reducing the amount of energy wasted when computers are left on when they are not being used;
• making sure that lights are switched off when they are not needed;
• installing a Green Cone so that we can dispose of food waste in an environmentally friendly way.

The school has been awarded the Eco-schools bronze award and we are now working towards the silver award.
