Reception Class is the class children enter when they first start school.

Learning in Reception Class is divided into the following areas:

• Personal,social and emotional development;
• Communication, language and literacy
• Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy;
• Knowledge and understanding of the world;
• Physical development;
• Creative development;
• Religious education.

Towards the end of the school year, children in the class lead a whole school assembly for the first time.

Each year, children in Reception Class enjoy a visit to Marwell Zoo.
